Naeemah Petersen

Artist

Naeemah Petersen started expressing herself creatively at a very early age. She works mainly in oils and acrylics and is based variously in Cape Town, South Africa and Dubai, UAE. Her preferred genres include human figure work and landscapes although she also frequently ventures into other areas. She paints in a style loosely associated with realism but does not feel bound or restricted by it. Her paintings are a reflection of the world in which she lives and how she experiences the emotional, aesthetic and social realms, often with elements of social commentary and satire embedded in them. Her work is informed by the relationships between light, colour, form and line while striving for simplicity and boldness in her compositions. Her work has been sold in various countries around the world.
